From September 23 to 27, the head of the department "Mathematics, Mechanics and Engineering Graphics" Galina Nikolaevna Kamyshova and deputy. Oksana Sergeevna Bashinskaya, Dean for Academic Affairs at the Agronomy Faculty, took part in the final conference of the SUSDEV - Lifelong Learning for Sustainable Development project. The event was held at the Kazakh National Agrarian University (KazNAU) (Almaty, Kazakhstan).
The event was attended by representatives of foreign universities participating in the implementation of this project: Warsaw University of Life Sciences (Poland), Jagiellonian University in Krakow (Poland), Polytechnic University - Coimbra (Portugal), University of Natural Resources and and Natural Sciences (Austria), Dublin Institute of Technology (Ireland), Royal Technological Institute in Stockholm (Sweden), Moscow State University of Applied Biotechnology (Russia), etc. 6 Kazakhstan participated in the meeting universities, which also lead successful cooperation in this area. The conference was opened by the first vice-rector of KazNAU, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Tireuov, who introduced the guests to the main strategic directions of the university. Also, the director of National Erasmus + Office in Kazakhstan Shaizada Tasbulatova spoke at the meeting, and the project coordinator is Professor of Warsaw University of Natural Sciences Stefan Ignar.
The aim of the project is to strengthen the role of higher education institutions in ensuring the sustainable development of industry and society, supporting national “green policies” in partner countries and promoting a “green culture” through lifelong learning.
The objectives of the project are to develop modules to stimulate green skills for various target groups and skill levels; ensuring access of target groups to the opening of educational resources; improving green culture and continuing education through training of faculty, external stakeholders and public administration; increasing the importance of “green skills” in education and work.
Employees of Kazakhstani and Russian universities participating in the project familiarized those present with the results and main ideas of the SUSDEV project. Parallel sessions were held on groups of the main project profiles: "Land Management", "Ecology" and "Food Security". Teams presented country analyzes of the current situation in three areas. The conference held discussions on the resources of open education and lifelong learning, etc. Plans for further cooperation have been outlined.
