"On the Vavilov’s road to the North Caucasus"

On the 27th of July at the Saratov state agricultural university was held a meeting of participants of the upcoming scientific expedition " On the Vavilov’s road to the North Caucasus». The plans of the expedition include visiting some scientific institutions in the South and the hiking route through the mountains of the Caucasus.
In a speech made by the Vice-rector for research and innovations, the doctor of economic Sciences, Professor I. L. Vorotnikov, the Dean of agronomical faculty, the candidate of economic Sciences, the associate Professor N. Shyurova and the head of the Department of scientific and pedagogical staff training, the candidate of economic Sciences, the associate Professor O. V. Tkachenko and Deputy Dean for scientific work and international relations of the faculty of Economics and management M. B. Volkova.
I. L. Vorotnikov, in his speach drew attention to the scientific significance of the expedition and its significance for each individual participant. It was noted that the main task is to collect plant material for further studying and improvement of the scientific and cultural level of the participants.
The Dean of agronomical faculty N.A. Shyurova said that the Saratov agricultural university is the only one which organizes such events. This expedition is of great importance for young scientists.
Then the participants of the expedition told about their own experience. The Head of section of sports tourism, the senior teacher of the Department "Economic Cybernetics" V. G. Lobanov encouraged young people to be patient and to do their best to overcome all difficulties and problems they face.
The Scientific leader of the expedition, the candidate of agricultural Sciences, the associate Professor of "Botany, chemistry, ecology" E. N. Shevchenko drew attention of the participants that such events are an important part of the Russian Vavilov Institute of plant growing (Saint Petersburg). The colleagues expressed their hope for taking part in the analysis of the results of the expedition and exchange of scientific data.
Each participant had the opportunity to express their opinions and wishes regarding the upcoming expedition. The guys talked about their activities and their role at the expedition/ They said that they expected from the trip new knowledge and experiences. They are looking forward to sitting around campfires at night and sleeping in tents.
At the end they watched the film "Vavilov’s rout on the Volga", a story about a memorable trip, which took place in 2012.
