On January 25, the Day of Russian students, the Rector's Ball was held on the territory of the Chess Palace in Saratov. This is an annual festive event for students and university teachers. It was first held in 2014. The rector's ball is dedicated to the traditions of Russian culture of the XIX century. Boys and girls try on the role of ladies and gentlemen: they put on evening dresses and perform classical pair dances, including Russian and French waltzes, gavotte, polka, country dance. This year more than 60 couples danced in the rhythm of music.
For the guests of the holiday the student club prepared an entertainment program with contests and a lottery, vocal performances. At the festive event, there were two photo zones in which everyone could take a colorful photo. N.I. Kuznetsov, the rector of the Saratov State Agrarian University opened the ball. He congratulated students and teachers on the holiday and noted the attention of the leadership to the youth. For more than 20 years, our university has been organizing events on Tatiana’s day, the rector said, and we always try to make the holiday interesting for students. For the fifth time we hold the Rector's Ball, a wonderful event where everyone can touch the history of our country. After the greeting, the rector awarded the best university students who participated in academic, scientific, social activities, achieved success in creativity and sports.
Representatives of the ministries also came to congratulate students of the SSAU named after N.I. Vavilov: O.A. Dubovenko, Deputy Minister of Youth Policy and Sport of the Saratov Region for Youth Policy and G.V. Kalyagin, Deputy Minister of Education of the Saratov Region, who wished young people success in all their endeavors.
