Food Security in the Country!

On the basis of the Saratov state agricultural university the Second all-Russian forum on breadmaking took place. The event was the exhibition-fair of bakery and confectionery products from manufacturers "Bread and health", manufacturers of bakery, pastry equipment and ingredients. Its products are widely introduced in our University. The meeting was opened with welcoming speech by the Deputy Chairman of Saratov region government, Soloviev A. A.
The forum participants noted the special significance of bread and bakery products for people and expressed their wish to develop, maintain and support bakery that is a strategically important sector of economy, ensuring food security. The main goal of the bakers and confectioners is cooperation between business, science and government at local and interregional level, to speak about the main problems of baking, milling and confectionary business to the Executive bodies and to give the business community an opportunity to take the initiative to improve the regulatory climate.
"The Saratov state agricultural university is perhaps the only University in our region, which trains professionals for the highest group for bakery, confectionery and pasta industry. Our graduates work for many famous enterprises in the region. We are opening branches of the Department on the basis of enterprises, hold master-classes. This forum promotes active cooperation between scientists and producers. If they work together, we will be able to solve the main problem - food security", said the Vice-rector for science and innovations, Vorotnikov I. L.,
In the plenary session they discussed the development of therapeutic and prophylactic bread, innovative technology in bakery industry, staffing industry, product quality, condition and prospects of development of bread-making.
The work of the forum was continued with a round table, where they discussed the technical and technological modernization, as a basis for improving the competitiveness of the bakery industry.
