Foreign students from SSAU at the festival “Maslenitsa”

On the 17th and 18th February 2018, the folk festival “Maslenitsa” was widely celebrated in "Korolkov garden", that is situated on the territory of Agrarian university and at Theatralnaya. Foreign and Russian students with the supervisors Panfilova E. G., Budina Y. V. and Sadovnikova E. V. too part in this event. There were a lot of people who wanted to say “good-bye” to winter and have fun enjoying pancakes with hot tea made on old and modern recipes prepared by students and teachers of the Department of "Food Technology". The guests participated in competitions, danced, as well as tested their strength in traditional fun - tug of war, the battle of pillows, etc.
The winners of the contests were awarded with gifts. Olga Popova, the Vice-rector for educational and social work made a speech.

On the stage of the experimental farm, a bright musical program was to watch. The students of the university made puppets – favorite Russian fairy tales character. Foreign students rode the horses there and took a lot of nice pictures.

The celebration of Maslenitsa in the district of Voskresenskoye is really to tell about. Kulakova A. I., Selome Memori (Zimbabwe), Loreno Dia Coco Ariel Mod (Congo) and Chimombo Dilan (Zambia) were dressed in Russian folk costumes. According to the script the teacher drivers to the scene, gets out from the car and says that to make spring and summer come quicker, we invited guests from distant and Sunny Africa. And then the guys get out of the car and start to dance. It was great! After that everyone went to try pancakes.

There were a lot of pancake tables there. There were different kinds of pancakes, even sculptures of pancakes. The guys danced, ate pancakes and fish soup, participated in competitions. The villagers made photographs with foreigners and did not let them leave the square for a long time. Denis Vladimirovich made a very warm speech.

All foreign students were delighted with the unusual and delicious holiday in the fresh air with pancakes and hot tea. The atmosphere of celebration was felt everywhere. The burning scarecrow of Maslenitsa, symbolizing the ending of winter, passed under the General delight and jubilation.
