11.04.2019, an event dedicated to one of the most terrible pages of human history-fascist concentration camps. From 1933 to 1945, about 20 million people from 30 countries of the world passed through them, about 12 million of them died, and every fifth prisoner was a child. For our country, this is a special date, since about 5 million dead were citizens of the USSR.
The event was opened by the Deputy Minister for Social Development of the Saratov Region, Natalia Gennadevna. She noted the invaluable importance of living witnesses of the events of the Great Patriotic War. Panfilov A.V. the head of the SSAU department also noted the invaluable contribution of the Ada Viktorovna Motherland, the head of the Memory of the Heart ensemble asks the word ensemble, the chairman of the public organization Russian Union of Former Minor Prisoners of Fascist Concentration Camps and invited to the university with the ensemble.
In memory of the dead and survivors of April 11, the International Day for the Liberation of Prisoners of Fascist Concentration Camps is celebrated around the world.
This date was set in memory of the international uprising of prisoners of the Buchenwald concentration camp, which occurred on April 11, 1945. The International Tribunal in Nuremberg in 1946 recognized that the imprisonment of peaceful citizens of foreign countries, as well as the use of their labor under compulsion in the interests of Germany, was a crime against humanity.
