The department was established in accordance with the order of the rector of 27.05.2011, No. 767-OD, on the basis of the security, GO and ES department that existed since September 2003.

Main areas of the department:
• addressing security issues at the university;
• addressing issues in the field of civil defense and emergency situations at the university.
