Dynamic and progressive development of science and education of our country and society, in particular, in the modern global civilization is impossible without the cooperation in these areas with others, first of all with the advanced countries of the world. And a serious attention is given to these issues at the Food Technology and Commodity Research Faculty. The faculty promotes international relations to study the scientific and practical experience of foreign universities and enterprises. International activity is a necessary and promising direction of the development of the faculty.
The faculty carries out international activities in the following areas:
1. Organization and participation in international conferences, forums, exhibitions, etc., with the participation of the teaching staff and the faculty students (postgraduate students, graduate students, bachelors and masters);
2. Participation in international educational and scientific programs (conclusion of cooperation agreements with foreign universities, teaching of foreign students);
3. Publication of articles by faculty members in the foreign press;
4. Professional development of teaching staff in foreign Universities and organizations;
5. Going for academic and practical training in advanced foreign countries.

Every year the scientists of the faculty take part in various competitions and exhibitions of international level, held both in Russia and outside the country, such as the International conference "Biotechnology. Water and food products" (Moscow, 2008); "Science and technology: a step into the future" (Prague, Czech Republic), III International forum and the V International conference "Safety and quality of food products. Science and education" (Moscow, Russia), III Chinese International exhibition-fair of scientific and technological achievements, Harbin (2010);
International competition "ECOTROPHELIA EUROPE 2012" for the best European product held in Paris; International Exhibition and Congress "Food ingredients, additives and spices" (Moscow, 2012, 2013, 2014); X, XI and XII Hydrocolloids conference (China, 2010; the USA 2012; Taiwan 2014); International conference "Gums and Stabilisers for the Food industry 15, 16, 17" (England, 2009, 2011, 2013); International Symposium "Global Out-look - Future Competition For Land And Water", dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture (Sweden, 2013); International conference "Healthy ageing" (Germany, 2013), etc.
Besides the teachers of the faculty participate in the conferences and symposia in the countries of CIS and the near abroad (Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus and others).
Many leading scientists of the faculty publish their articles in foreign journals. During 2012-2013 the staff of the faculty departments published more than 10 articles in leading international journals, 18 books were published, 8 of which were published in the German publishing house LAMBERT Academic Publishing GmbH & Co.
With the purpose of sharing educational and scientific experience with foreign colleagues the faculty members take job trainee courses in foreign Universities and organizations: Corporation for innovative learning technologies (England), Dublin Institute of technology (Ireland), University of Greenwich (England), School of Food Sciences of Royal Institute of technology (RMIT) in Melbourne (Australia).
To increase the level of preparation of University graduates in the field of application of advanced technologies students go to foreign internships advanced at the enterprises of Western countries such as Germany, France, Austria, Netherlands and others. The faculty in the persons of the scientists of its departments actively participates in international educational and scientific programs and the training of foreign students.
To make the relationship with foreign universities more profound the following agreements on cooperation has been concluded: Kazakh Seyfulin Agro-Technical University (Astana, Republic of Kazakhstan); Western Kazakhstan Zhangir Khan Agrotechnical University (Uralsk, Republic of Kazakhstan); Max Rubner Institute, Federal Research Institute of Nutrition and Food Products (Germany); The University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy, Brno (Czech Republic). In the framework of the "Tempus" program with the Polytechnic Institute of Agricultural College of the city of Coimbra (Portugal) and the Universidade Católica Portuguesa Porto (Portugal).
Research program "The Use of a combination of food fibers and proteins in creation of structural-complex food systems" is carried out at the "Technology of Food Products" Department in the framework of the agreement on joint scientific research in collaboration with the Laboratory of applied sciences of Royal Institute of technology (RMIT), Melbourne (Australia).
